We know that BREXIT has risen a lot of questions and doubts in those of you who are already studying or wish to study in the UK. That is why, we from New Alternative Path put in one place the most frequently asked ones, and answered them here:

  1. Will the UK government continue to grant students with student loans from SFE?

The British government stated that Student Finance England Loans Company will continue to grant loans to students who wish to start their higher education in the next academic year (2021/2022), both Tuition Fee and Maintenance Loan, as long as they have either ‘settled’ or ‘pre-settled’ status.

If you have neither of these statuses, because you haven’t lived in the United Kingdom before 31st December 2020, you can still apply for a Student Finance, but these time you will only be eligible for the so called Tuition Fee loan, which covers only your higher education taxes.

  1. What are the conditions under which I can qualify for a student loan from the government?

Maintenance Loan up to £12 000, and up to £16 000 if you have children under 18 years of age

The Maintenance Loan is a loan from the government, which you get in three installments, directly to your bank account for any personal needs you might have over the course of your education.

The main conditions in order for you to receive this loan are:

  • Having a ‘pre-settled’ or ‘settled’ status;
  • Proof that you have worked either on a full-time contract, if you are an employee, or you earn at least £800 per month if you are self-employed

Tuition Fee Loan (the amount for which vary depending on the University or College you have applied to)

In order for you to receive the full amount for your University or College taxes from the British Government, you have to have an unconditional offer from the University or College you have applied to. The application processes for our partners are quick and easy, and what you will need is:

  • Passport or ID;
  • Diploma or no Diploma;
  • CV (for which we offer help);
  • Proof of address;
  • Interview (for which we will help).
  1. Under what conditions should the loans be returned?

In order for you to return the Tuition Fee Loan and/or the Maintenance Loan to the British Government, you have to earn more than £27 275 per year. Interest rate is added only if your annual income is more than £27 275, and only on the money which are above this sum.

Example: If you earn £30 000 per year, the interest rate of 9% will be put on the sum of £2 725 (£30 000 – £27 275), i.e., £20.44 per month.

The return of this money starts only after you have graduated in the United Kingdom, and only under the abovementioned conditions.

Thirty years after the year in which you have graduated your loan seizes to exist, it doesn’t matter if you have started to return it or not.

  1. When are the intakes and what are the gains of having a British Diploma?

The intakes happen four times per year: January, April, June, and September. The education in the United Kingdom is designed in a way that you can get the best of it in the shortest amount of time possible. The courses are diverse, and their length is between three and four years for Bachelor’s Degree and only one year for Master’s Degree. Classes are two or three days a week, for just a couple of hours. You can also choose whether you want to have them during the day or in the evenings.

Why Study Finance and Accounting BSc (Hons)?

Studying accounting and finance leads to excellent graduate prospects and opportunities to work with some of the world’s most prominent corporations and accounting firms. Finance studies aid in the training and preparation for a business career as well as the development of business knowledge. Financial accountants have all the skills that companies need and are still in demand, making accountancy an increasingly rising career choice. Accountancy graduates frequently have the skills and experience to advance their careers in other fields of industry.

  1. An accounting and finance degree is an excellent option for those interested in participating in some of the best graduate training programmes. As a graduate trainee, you’ll have a more formal training programme and more opportunities for career advancement and personal development if you join a well-established organisation.
  2. The reputation of the accounting profession is unlikely to dwindle. In order to comply with applicable regulations and business practises, any business requires accountants and finance professionals. To ensure that you remain a highly valued and employable member of staff, all you have to do is stay up to date on developments in the finance industry.
  3. Accountants are critical to the success of any company or commercial venture. Graduate accountants can operate in a variety of industries and sectors because their expertise and experience are transferable.
  4. Accounting and finance degrees accompany a broad range of other degree subjects, making it possible to pursue a combined honours degree in a subject other than accounting and finance, such as business or languages. A combined honours degree provides additional skills and expertise that can be applied in the workplace.
  5. Accountancy and finance studies take a very realistic approach, allowing students to gain valuable experience in business accounting and finance in both simulated and real-life scenarios.
  6. Many accounting and finance degrees have an optional placement year that allows you to work in the industry and gain experience in all facets of the profession.
  7. Some accounting and finance degrees include a year abroad, enabling students to learn about other cultures while also learning about the global financial economy.

Don’t get me wrong: learning accountancy does not imply that you will become an accountant. Instead, you’re broadening your career options and building skills that are applicable to fields other than finance. Of course, several people considering a top-up degree in accounting and finance hope to work in the financial sector. However, you should always keep in mind that if you decide that becoming an accountant isn’t the best career path for you, you have a lot of other choices, some of which are:

  • Data analyst
  • Tax advisor
  • Purchasing Manager

Why Study BA (Hons) Criminal Justice?

For both men and women, criminal justice is a rewarding, highly trained, and well-respected profession. You may want to consider a criminal justice career if you are looking for an interesting and impactful career, whether you are fresh out of high school or changing careers.

  1. You get to support people in need while still keeping others safe

A mission lies at the core of the criminal justice system: to keep people, families, and populations secure. Public justice workers work for this goal every day, protecting their neighbourhoods, solving crimes, and implementing laws and regulations to ensure that everyone’s safety is a top priority. If you want to make a difference in people’s lives, the criminal justice profession may be right for you.

Many people pursue criminal justice studies because they want to make a difference. They want to support those in need, defend the common good, and put the needs of the people first. You can partner with crime victims, help solve crimes, or help deter crime in your neighbourhood if you work in criminal justice.

2. In this area, there are several different career paths to choose from.

If you choose to work in law enforcement, cybercrime, detective work, or even probation and parole, the criminal justice system has a wide range of career opportunities. That is one of the reasons why so many people choose to work in this booming industry. Individuals will discover their talents and interests in the criminal justice profession and pursue careers that are precisely aligned with them.

Protecting and securing others, campaigning for victims of crime, treating and rehabilitating offenders, and even investigating on-the-scene evidence are all possible criminal justice occupations. But this is just the start. You can work in a variety of settings with the right education and experience, including:

  • Community Health Centers
  • Corrections
  • Customs and Border Protection
  • Drug Enforcement Agency
  • Federal Bureau of Prisons
  • Immigration and Customs Enforcement
  • Law Enforcement
  • Social Services
  • Private and Personal Security Agencies
  • Transportation Security Administration
  • Judiciary and Law
  • Teaching and Research

3. Criminal justice jobs are more than just a 9-to-5 job; each day is exciting and different

Many people are drawn to the world of criminal justice because it is exciting. No two days are the same for many professionals, such as police officers and private investigators. Criminal justice is a perfect choice for you if you’re looking for a profession that’s not your usual desk work and doesn’t get boring.

Being a member of the criminal justice system can also lead to incredible experiences. As you gain experience and credibility in the field, you will have the opportunity to fly, meet influential people (such as governors), and participate in a variety of significant local and federal events.

Criminal justice school also provides a wealth of fascinating opportunities, which is yet another compelling reason to pursue a career in the field. Internships in a variety of active career settings, working under real-life professionals in the field, will be available to you if you enroll in a reputable criminal justice program.

4. Criminal justice majors will still be in demand

Since public security and safety are always a priority, officers and detectives will be required to respond at all times. Criminal justice is a perfect career option if you want a high degree of job security and stability, as well as constant prospects for promotion and significant benefits. Employment of detectives, prosecutors, police officers, transit police, and game wardens is expected to increase in the coming years, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Many people would prefer criminal justice because of the opportunities for development and improvement it provides. If you gain experience in the industry, you should expect to receive higher work titles and higher salaries. Many criminal justice jobs often include early retirement with a higher rate of accrual, allowing you to retire younger and earning more. Insurance packages are also a bonus of many criminal justice careers.

So, what’s the point of studying criminal justice? These are just a few of the many reasons why we enjoy the industry, from work security to job prospects, a satisfying everyday job to an exciting day-to-day.

Why Study Graphic Design BA (Hons)?

Since the graphic design industry is thriving and demand is low, professional Graphic Designers can easily find jobs. The industry is expected to expand in 2019 and 2020. Graphic designers will be in high demand as more businesses (High-Tech, start-ups, e-commerce) go online and more businesses want to sell their goods.

Salaries differ between in-house and agency positions, with a designer earning between £26,000 and £38,000 at the middle level. Senior graphic designers or artistic leads earn between £38,000 and £60,000 a year. Freelance work can be lucrative, versatile, and include a wide range of projects.

Here are ten reasons why you should choose Graphic Design as your future career path:

Get paid for being creative.

Every day, graphic designers demonstrate their imagination. They must not only choose colour palettes, imagery, and form, but they must also think beyond the box to solve difficult briefs. Graphic design allows you to bring your designs to life if you’re a creative sort with a keen eye for detail.

Make a real difference.

From a simple flyer to a large advertisement campaign, every design project has the potential to make a difference. For example, a poster campaign might inspire anyone to donate blood, a well-designed logo can help a local business draw more customers, or successful signage can simply point people in the right direction. The opportunity to effect improvement, no matter what you design, is a luxury.

You have the world at the palm of your hands.

A designer can work from anywhere in the world if they have a pencil, a Mac, and the right programme. Most businesses and customers nowadays don’t care where you work as long as you deliver the products. If you enjoy travelling, why not join the growing army of “digital nomads” who use their design skills to finance their adventures?

Chance to be your own boss.

Designers can work for themselves in a variety of ways, from freelancing to starting their own agency. Some designers also start their own commercial brands, promoting their own product lines through their marketing and creative skills.

Job opportunities.

Graphic Designer, Art Worker, UI/UX Designer, Information Architect, Mobile Designer, Brand Identity Developer, Packaging Designer, Broadcast Designer, Illustrator, Production Artist, Motion Graphics Designer, Web Designer, and Creative Director are only a few of the professions available with a visual communication degree.

Cash in on digital.

With the growth of online and mobile channels, demand for digital-led designer positions has never been higher. In the United Kingdom, the average wage for a User Interface Designer with up to 5 years of experience is about £29,117, compared to £22,599 for a Print Graphic Designer with the same amount of experience. Furthermore, over half of all digital designers in the UK have fewer than five years of experience, indicating that graduates have a lot of chances to make an impact early in their careers.

Leave your mark

As a designer, you’ll be making one-of-a-kind work that you can be proud of and share with the rest of the world. It’s always fun to see something you built in action – on a store shelf or a billboard – and your work will be used by future generations.

Work across a variety of industries

Every industry requires effective visual communication, which necessitates the use of skilled designers. The options are infinite, whether you want to work with various types of clients or specialise in an area that interests you.

Everyday is unique

As a designer, there is never a boring moment because each day brings a new artistic challenge. You could be planning a restaurant’s social media post one day and a healthcare company’s strategic strategy the next. With no time to watch the clock, a relentless flow of deadlines keeps you focused.

It’s FUN!

Working in a modern design studio is a vivid and thrilling experience. Studio life may be more up your alley if the thought of working nine to five in a corporate office setting makes you shiver. With relaxed dress codes, flexible working styles, and quirky workspaces, creative studios appreciate individuality. Working as part of a creative team is inspiring and enjoyable, and there is a large online community of designers who share work, input, and advice for the self-employed artist.

A manager must take the initiative rather than obey, but they must also listen.

They must also demonstrate versatility and the ability to operate in various departments. Soft skills, such as business knowledge and attention to detail, make a significant difference in guest satisfaction, while hard skills, such as business knowledge and attention to detail, are critical for an organization’s success.

5. You’ll join the most strong network in the hospitality industry

Connections are crucial in any industry, but especially hospitality.

Why study Business and Events Management BSc(Hons)?

The events industry is big money

While events aren’t always about making money or bringing in big money, there’s always the worry of “will I be able to find work when I graduate?” ‘The events and experience industry in the United Kingdom is worth more than £40 billion, and the top ten event management companies have a combined turnover of around £3.5 billion.’ That is enormous. And that’s all in the United Kingdom. With the global events market expected to develop in 2018 and 2019, more people will come together for shared experiences, which you can help build.

Develop skills you never knew you had

Many people may not realize how much goes into being a successful event planner. By studying events management, you will gain skills that will not only help you excel in this specific career path, but will also provide you with a wide range of transferable skills and experiences, such as budgeting, marketing campaigns, and people and logistics management. Each day is a new day

Because of the nature of this industry, you’ll be exposed to a much wider range of activities, ensuring that no two days are alike. You’re checking out a new venue for your event one day before heading off to visit a second client, and setting up and organizing a live music festival the next. You won’t get bored of the same old things because of the variety, which will keep you entertained and satisfied.

Give yourself just as many experiences

Being an events planner can be just as thrilling for you as it is for your customers, whether you’re holding corporate meetings for Fortune 500 companies or running an international dance festival. Travel opportunities, backstage passes, and meeting celebrities are all part of the package while working in the events industry.

See the results of your hard work first-hand

Nothing feels better than feeling that the hard work has paid off. Not only does the events industry provide a wonderful opportunity to see your plans and visions come to life, but it also offers the ultimate pat on the back in the form of glowing reviews and input from your clients. It’s not something you get every day at work.

FOMO is real; people want experiences

According to a new study by Eventbrite, young people suffer from severe FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out): each month, millenials spend nearly £420 million on attending live events. The events and experience industry isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, with nearly two-thirds of their respondents choosing to spend their hard-earned money on experiences rather than physical possessions.
